Section 3: Charging Your Device(s)

The Puku S8 has an automatic device detection system for both USB ports. Once a device is connected to the Puku S8, charging continues until disconnected, or until the Puku S8 runs out of battery charge. If the Puku S8 does not automatically detect the connected device, simply ensure your device is properly connected before pushing the power button for 3-5 seconds to switch on the battery and start charging your device. The Puku S8 can charge up to two devices simultaneously. It also has an automatic load balancing system that will prioritize its outputs to optimize charging. The Puku S8 has a combined current output of 3.1Amps, with an output of 2.1Amps dedicated to USB port 2, while USB port 1 provides an output range of 1-2.1Amps. You can charge your device with any of the USB ports when charging only one device at a time. When charging two devices, always connect your higher power device, such as a tablet, to USB port 2, which has a dedicated output current of 2.1Amps.

The Puku S8 will always send more charge to the higher power device connected to USB port 2 when charging two devices simultaneously.

The Puku S8 battery comes with a micro USB cable and a 30-pin connector cable, which can be used to charge a range of devices including smart phones, tablets, mobile or hand-held devices with USB cable chargers.

The 30-pin connector is compatible with iPhone 4/4S/3GS,  iPads, iPods and other Apple devices. The micro USB connector is compatible with Blackberry, HTC, LG, Nokia, Samsung, Sony and other micro USB devices including Bluetooth headsets, portable navigation devices, MP3 players, and more.

You can also use your own USB cable that has connectors compatible with your device, including connectors such as the mini USB connectors for PlayStation devices and the lighting connectors for the iPhone 5, iPad mini and other Apple devices.

  1. Re-charge every three months when not in use.
  2. Keep dry and away from moist and corrosive materials.
  3. Keep clean by wiping down with cleaning cloth provided whenever necessary.

Section 6: Product Specifications

Battery: 8000 mAh Lithium Ion

AC Input: 100-240 VAC 50/60 Hz

DC Input: 5V/2.1 Amp

Output 1: 5V/1Amps

Output 2: 5V/2.1 Amps

Section 7: Troubleshooting

In the case your device is not charging when connected to Puku S8, ensure your device is properly connected before proceeding with pushing the power button for 3-5 seconds. Your Puku S8 should turn on and start charging your device. If the indicator on your Puku S8 is flashing red, it simply means your Puku S8 has run out of battery capacity and needs to be recharged.

Your device may also not charge if you’re charging two devices at once, due to the automatic load balancing or prioritizing function of the Puku S8. The Out 2 USB port receives the highest priority when charging multiple devices. Lack of sufficient battery capacity, or charging two high power devices, such as tablets, could result in one of your devices not getting charged. In such scenarios, devices connected to the Out 2 USB port are always charged first.  You can either wait for the devices to be charged in order of priority, or try charging one device at a time in your order of preference.  Additionally, charging your Puku S8 battery could help solve any problems associated with charging two devices at once.
